Scalp Micropigmentation
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is the ultimate answer to all kinds of hair loss, whatever the underlying cause, by replicating the follicles. It also helps control disappearing hairlines, Alopecia, and can even cover scars. The techniques employed are similar to tattooing yet with significant differences. One of those differences is the depth of your implanted pigment.
The scalp micropigmentation treatment process is not a surgical procedure. In fact, it only utilises ink that has been formulated for the scalp. Because of the need for a realistic hairline, the implant depth is notably shallower than that of a tattoo. If it is placed too deeply the “dot” with misshape and discolouration will occur.
For men, our treatments create the illusion of a full head of shaven hair, even for clients who are totally bald. For women or for men who wish to keep their hair longer, SMP reduces the contrast between the scalp and the hair to produce the appearance of a thicker, fuller head of hair.
How long does it last?
Fading will occur after approximately five to seven years. However, you won’t need a whole new treatment after this timescale, if you wish to maintain your natural look, touch-ups will be required.
